Feasibility Planning

Route options, layout options or treatment options (e.g. a roundabout vs traffic signals) can be examined during feasibility stage audits.

They allow an assessment of the relative safety performance of scheme options and identifying specific needs of various road users. By providing a specific safety input at this stage of a scheme, road safety audit can influence fundamental issues such as route choice, standards, impact on and continuity with the existing adjacent network, and intersection or interchange provision. For traffic management schemes or small improvements, this stage will usually be less significant, but is still worth the inclusion even in a condensed form.
